Getting to the UAB

Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is located outside the city of Barcelona. Please visit the university website ( to check the best way of getting to UAB for you. We recommend taking Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) which provide frequent (every 10-15 mins), punctual and affordable service. You can take a FGC train from either of the three stations in the city: Catalunya, Provença or Gràcia. Catalunya train station is located right next the Aerobus stop: you can find them in this map. The lines that go to UAB are S2 (to Sabadell) or S55 (to Universitat Autònoma). The name of the station you have to get off at is Universitat Autònoma. Please keep the ticket for the whole journey: you need it to get in and to go out of the station (there is a fine of 30€ if you don't have it at UAB station).

Getting to the conference venue

The workshop will take place in Sala de Graus, Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres, Edifici B, Campus UAB. A map will help you find your way around the campus. In order to get to the building (Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres) from the railway station, you have to take the main exit in the middle of the station, go downstairs, and then go straight: you will arrive at the square (called "Plaça Cívica"). On your left there will be a candy shop; turn left, cross the square and continue along the path that goes up the hill behind the square. Halfway up, on your right you will see the building of the "Facultat de Psicologia". This is the building you are looking for. You can enter by the lateral door, turn left, take the stairs up to get to the Facultat de Lletres. You will see the Information Desk of the Facultat de Lletres on the right. The conference room (Sala de Graus) is right in front of the Information Desk.

Where to eat at the UAB

There are many cafeterias and restaurants at the Campus where you can buy a sandwich or have a 1 or 2 course meal at an affordable price. Most of them are open from 8am to 7.30pm.

The cafeterias around the conference venue are:

Faculty of Education and Faculty of Translation and Interpreting -  Building G

Faculty of Economy/Sciences - Building B/C

Restaurant at the Plaça Cívica

Faculty of Philosophy and Arts and Faculty of Psychology  - Building B

You can find them in this map.

This is a real problem in Barcelona, especially in the popular turistic areas (like el Raval) and - above all - in public transport within the city! You should be alert when travelling by metro or by bus, but especially if you see a sudden chaotic/erratic movement of people around you.
